Whether you are an existing Vak Choir Member or would like to participate with the choir for the first time, we encourage you to join us for this wonderful chance to bring a sonic dimension to Yoga: Art of Transformation, a Smithsonian touring exhibition devoted to the transformative power of yoga.
The Vak Choir is an ensemble of "everyday" and professional voices trained in yogic sound philosophies and practices which are used as a base for original, contemporary works that seek to inspire and transform. As a member of the Vak Choir you not only experience the thrill of performing, but also learn sound practices that awaken our experience of self and each other through song, sound and silence — practices that can serve you in your day-to-day life as well as in performance. Hear what our members have to say about the benefits of participating in the Vak Choir here.
Everyone is welcome to become a Vak Choir Member. No previous vocal or yoga experience is required. There is no need to read music. There are no auditions.
To perform as a member of the Vak Choir at the Yoga: the Art of Transformation you must:
• Attend the six-week workshop "Naada Yoga: Sound Practices of the Hatha Yogis" where you will learn the skills for our performance.
Sundays, 6:00-8:00pm February 23 thru March 30 at Mountain Yoga, 2071 Antioch Ct, Oakland
(NOTE: March 2 session held at the Asian Art Museum)
• Attend 2 Evening Rehearsals on site at the Asian Art Museum
March 26 and April 1, 5-9pm.

• Pay Choir Dues of $110. (Choir Dues cover cost of 6-week workshop, rehearsal space, administrative support, and museum access.)
